Kanpur has a domestic airport with limited flight connectivity, primarily serving cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. While options may be fewer, it is the most convenient mode of travel for those who find a suitable direct flight.

2. Lucknow Airport (LKO – Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport)
Lucknow is the nearest international airport to IIT Kanpur, located approximately 90 km away. It offers direct flights to all major Indian cities. The travel time from Lucknow to IIT Kanpur is around 2.5-3 hours by road.
B. Arrival by Train
1. Kanpur Central Railway Station (CNB)
Kanpur Central Railway Station is one of the busiest and most important railway stations in India, located on the vital Delhi-Kolkata rail corridor. It is well-connected to all major cities across the country with regular, express and superfast trains. The station handles a high volume of daily passengers and is equipped with multiple platforms, modern amenities, and electrified routes. The distance to IIT Kanpur is approximately 16 km, with a travel time of around 40 minutes.
